Kilchoman | 2007 | distilled 2007 and bottled in 2013 | 46 % | First and Refill Bourbon Casks | NCF & NCA
Nose: Ashy smoke, brown sugar, sweet malt, leathery, salt, BBQ spices,
Taste: Good! Sweet malty, salt, smoke, a bit nutty, chocolate, slightly oily mouthfeel and some oak influence, bacon,
Finish: Not overly long but just right, salt, meaty, dark chocolate and smoke
Conclusion: A good Kilchoman, a really good malt. Less fruity and malty than the 100% Islay line but a hint less smokey than the Machir Bay, a nice BBQ’y touch on palate and finish. A tad bit on the simple side but quite nice
